Mpule Kwelagobe was the first black African woman from Botswana to win the Big Four international beauty pageants (Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss International and Miss Earth) and she was the first woman from Botswana to win these title.
Miss Universe 2011 – Leila Lopes
Leila Lopes at the age of 24 won crowned of Miss Universe in São Paulo, Brazi. She is currently the 60th Miss Universe titleholder and is the first Angolan woman to win the crown.

Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters was crowned Miss South Africa in the year 2017 in Las Vegas, USA. Nel-Peters earned a business degree from South Africa’s North West University before coming to Las Vegas to compete.
Miss Universe 2019 – Zozibini Tunzi
26-year-old Zozibini Tunzi is from Tsolo, South Africa has been won Miss Universe crown for the year 2019. Zozibini Tunzi defeated Miss Universe Puerto Rico to win the crown. She is quite active in fight against gender based violence. Her Miss Universe boi describes her as, “She has devoted her social media campaign to changing the narrative around gender stereotypes. She is a proud advocate for natural beauty and encourages women to love themselves the way they are.
