Forbes’ 2018 “World’s Billionaires” – Richest People in the World

Forbes Billionaire list for 2018, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has seized the top spot. For the first time founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezos move over co-founder of Microsoft Bill Gates, and was listed as the top billionaire, worth $112 billion.

The list of Forbes Billionaire is a snapshot of wealth using stock prices and exchange rates from February 9, 2018. In the year 2018, there was 2,208 people on the list of Forbes, including 259 newcomers, most of them are from China and the U.S.; there were 63 people under 40 and it had a record number of 256 women.

There was 585 billionaires from U.S, while Greater China was catching up with 476 billionaires including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. In the list Germany with 123, India with 119 and Russia with 102 billionaires.

Founder of Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg at no 5, with an estimated $71 billion. Chairman and CEO of luxury goods company LVMH, Bernard Arnault, and his family at no 4, with an estimated $72 billion.

Forbes assistant managing editor Luisa Kroll said “There are 72 self-made (women), which is just really exciting because that’s always been a huge lag,”.

Entrepreneur Zhou Qunfei from China is the richest self-made woman on the list with a net worth of $7.8 billion.
